Austria’s infrastructure gets a modern upgrade

The new Koralmbahn line is among the largest infrastructure projects in Europe: 130 kilometers of new track, 50 kilometers of tunnels and more than 100 bridges will soon provide fast and safe connections between Styria and Carinthia. At the center of it all: Rieder’s facade solutions. The architecture firm Zechner & Zechner chose our durable, low-maintenance elements for several stations and operational buildings.

During construction section 50.3 of the Koralmbahn in St. Paul, a major contribution was made to the architectural quality along the new southern line. The facades feature approximately 3,000 m² of öko skin slats in sandstone and 2,000 m² of concrete skin panels in anthracite.

The mix of natural colors and resilient materials ensures a harmonious integration into the Carinthian landscape. At the same time, the long-lasting, low-maintenance facade elements meet the highest standards of functionality and sustainability. The building thus merges modern infrastructure with contemporary design and environmental responsibility. Photos: Ditz Fejer
