BauZ! Vienna Congress 2026

Focus on future-oriented construction within existing buildings

From March 23 to 25, the BauZ! Vienna Congress for future-oriented construction took place in Vienna. Under the motto “Shaping the existing stock! Everything is already there.” this year’s congress focused on sustainable construction methods and the redevelopment of existing buildings.

The event once again brought together numerous experts from architecture, research and the construction industry in its 23rd edition. The focus was on innovative approaches to transforming existing buildings in a resource-efficient way and rethinking them for the future.

The future begins with existing buildings

On the first two days, current research, architectural and development projects were presented. The program was complemented by in-depth workshops. Rieder was also represented on site: Mirna Bukovcan presented the Rieder Campus as a successful example of circular construction, showing how innovative material and building concepts can contribute to transforming the existing built environment.

On the third day, an architectural tour took participants to selected best-practice examples and Vienna renovation projects. A successful event that continues to rethink existing buildings and highlights forward-looking solutions for a more sustainable built environment.
