A Striking Facade

The Meaford Public Library in Canada was designed to meet the growing needs of a diverse population. Together with the adjacent park, the library forms a vibrant hub that welcomes the public while thoughtfully engaging with the surrounding historic buildings. The architects clad the facade in öko skin slats in liquid black, a colour that harmonises beautifully with the red brickwork of the area. By using three different surface finishes, they created a lively interplay of textures and tones. This dynamic contrast gives the building envelope a distinctive and eye-catching character.
