Revitalising the Existing Buildings
In Frankfurt, three existing buildings, including a historic, listed villa dating from around 1900 and two extensions built in 1980 and 2003, were carefully renovated and modernised with a focus on energy sustainability. A central objective of the facade restoration and interior work was to create a cohesive design between the three interconnected buildings. The aim was for the existing architectural references to form a harmonious overall appearance within the ensemble and integrate seamlessly into the park-like surroundings.
INDUSTRIA, an investment manager specialising in residential real estate, moved into two of the revitalised buildings. At Building 15, the old metal facade was replaced with a new plaster finish in a light colour. The building base and the vertical pilasters were clad with three-dimensional glassfibre reinforced concrete elements, creating structured accents on the outer shell. Photos: Ditz Fejer
